  2. I have omitted the leading part of this sentence because the context is confusing. The BLS itself had "corrected" what it judged to be an upward bias in its index due to mandated safety and anti-pollution devices. The discussion among Boskin Commission members was whether this over-corrected, imparting a downward bias which their own estimate should remove. [BACK]
